# AI UGC for affiliate marketing, hook by hook.

AI UGC for affiliate marketing means video ads where an AI actor presents your offer to camera, with no creator to hire. RiffAds turns your script into a lip-synced actor video and tells you its credit cost before you render it.

## How do affiliate marketers use AI UGC ads?

Affiliate marketers use AI UGC to test many video hooks for one offer without paying a creator for every take. An AI actor delivers your script to camera as a presenter, never as a fake customer. Every ad on RiffAds has a credit price before you render it, and unused credits roll over, which suits affiliate marketing that runs in bursts.

### How it works

1. **Draft the hooks**: Give the AI writer your offer and angle, and it drafts several opening hooks plus a full script to test.
2. **Cast a presenter**: Choose a library actor that suits the offer, or describe a new one in words, then pick a voice in any of 74 languages.
3. **See the cost**: Each version shows its credit cost before you press Generate, so every hook test starts with a known budget.
4. **Label and download**: Add captions and an on-screen AI label with the text overlay tool, then upload the file to your own ad account.

### Best for

- Hook tests for one offer
- TikTok Shop product videos
- Faceless product explainers
- A winning script in new languages
- Agent-run creative batches

### RiffAds in numbers

- **74**: voice languages, so a winning script can become a new ad for each market you promote in.
- **848**: credits pay for one 30 second talking actor ad and its voice, so you can budget a hook test at $0.01 a credit.

### The numbers behind it

- **$53,088**: is the FTC's maximum civil penalty per violation of one of its trade regulation rules, as adjusted in 2025. Source: [FTC civil penalty adjustments](https://www.ftc.gov/news-events/news/press-releases/2025/02/ftc-publishes-inflation-adjusted-civil-penalty-amounts-2025), February 2025.
- **9:16**: is the vertical ratio TikTok recommends for In-Feed video ads. Horizontal 16:9 and square 1:1 are also accepted. Source: [TikTok Ads Help Center, video ad specs](https://ads.tiktok.com/help/article/video-ads-specifications?lang=en), June 2026.

## Questions

### Does the FTC allow AI avatars in affiliate ads?

Its testimonial rule does not ban them outright. In the FTC staff's Q&A, the rule has no blanket ban on AI-generated avatars; what crosses the line is a fake or false testimonial. So an AI actor must not claim to be a customer who used the product, and each knowing violation can bring a court-imposed civil penalty of up to $53,088. Actors portraying customers could still be deceptive under the FTC Act, so cast the actor as a presenter.

### Do I need to disclose that my AI actor is AI-generated?

On TikTok, yes. TikTok ads need its AIGC label or your own clear disclaimer, and AI ads it finds undisclosed are rejected or restricted. On Meta, since June 1, 2026, an AI info label appears on its own when Meta detects third-party AI in an ad. For EU viewers, from 2 August 2026, a realistic AI actor that could pass for a real person needs a visible or audible AI label at first exposure.

### Can I get banned from affiliate networks for using AI videos?

It depends on the network and the offer, so read their terms before you run AI creative. The ad platforms are clearer. TikTok rejects or restricts AI ads that are not disclosed, and Google Ads suspends accounts without warning for ads that impersonate public figures, with AI videos of popular YouTubers as one example. Never use a real person's face or voice without written consent you can prove.

### How much does it cost to test an affiliate offer with AI UGC?

Each video has a credit price before it renders, and a credit is $0.01. A 30 second actor ad, voice included, comes to roughly 848 credits, and a shorter hook costs less. Monthly plans begin at $49, and unused credits roll over with no cap. Or start with the Growth trial: 3 days and 500 credits for $1, renewing at $99 a month if you do not cancel.

### How many AI UGC creatives should an affiliate test per offer?

TikTok recommends running 3 to 5 different creatives per ad group, so plan at least that many for each offer. Change the hook first: TikTok's guidance is to say what the ad is about in the first 3 seconds and to lead with the hook in the first 6. With an AI actor, a new hook is a new script, not a new shoot.

### Can AI UGC replace real creators for affiliate ads?

Not for everything. For hook tests and presenter-style videos, an AI actor can do the job. A real testimonial still needs a real person who used the product. You can have an AI actor read a real customer's review, with permission and its meaning kept, but the FTC Endorsement Guides say the ad should then state plainly that the speaker is not a real customer of the product.

### Can my AI agent make affiliate video ads for me?

Yes. With API, MCP, Agent Skills and CLI on every plan, an agent can write hook variants, price them and pay from your credit wallet. Its limits come from a person: 600 credits per job and 2,000 a day until an owner or admin changes them, and each API key can carry its own budget. A 30 second actor ad can need a higher per-job cap. RiffAds returns only the file and has no access to your ad accounts.

## About RiffAds

RiffAds makes realistic UGC video ads with AI actors, lip-synced to your script, in the studio or from your AI agent through API, MCP, Agent Skills and CLI. It never posts to a social account: every result is a download link to the finished file.

RiffAds is priced in credits. 1 credit is $0.01 and credits never expire. Plans start at $49 a month for 4,500 credits. A 30 second talking actor ad is about 848 credits. The studio, the REST API and the MCP server spend the same balance at the same prices, so there is no separate API price.
