## What is a text to speech video maker?

A text to speech video maker turns a written script into an AI voiceover and puts that voice in a video, with no voice actor. In RiffAds you pick the voice, the language and the delivery, then lip-sync it onto an AI actor or lay it over B-roll with Merge Layers. Every voiceover is priced before it is made.

### How it works

1. **Write the script**: Paste your ad script, up to 1,500 characters, or draft one with the AI writer in a workflow.
2. **Pick a voice**: Choose a library voice, set the language and the delivery, and add emotion cues where you want them.
3. **See the cost**: The studio prices the voiceover by the characters in your script and shows the credits before anything runs.
4. **Use the voiceover**: Download the audio, lay it over B-roll with Merge Layers, or send it to a talking actor: OmniHuman 1.5 takes under 60 seconds of audio, and MiniMax H3 Max Lip Sync takes 5 to under 14.8 seconds.

### Best for

- Ads in many languages
- Talking actor ads
- Voiceover on B-roll and demos
- Teams without a voice actor
- Agents that script and voice ads

### RiffAds in numbers

- **74**: voice languages, including English, Spanish, Hindi, Arabic and Japanese.
- **8**: credits for a script of about 30 seconds, billed by the character. 1 credit is $0.01.

### The numbers behind it

- **25%+**: of watch time, on average, came from views in a non-primary language for YouTube creators who uploaded multi-language audio tracks. Source: [YouTube Official Blog](https://blog.youtube/news-and-events/multi-language-audio/), September 2025.
- **40%**: of all ads is the share buyers projected generative AI creative would reach by 2026, with small and mid-tier brands adopting it faster. Source: [IAB Digital Video Ad Spend report](https://www.iab.com/news/nearly-90-of-advertisers-will-use-gen-ai-to-build-video-ads/), July 2025.

## Questions

### Can AI voices be used in paid ads?

Yes. The RiffAds Terms let you use library voices and your outputs in paid ads and client work. Two limits apply. Only use a recording of your own voice, or of someone who gave you written consent. And never let the voice speak as a customer who does not exist or never used the product. The FTC's reviews and testimonials rule bans fake testimonials like that.

### Does a text to speech voiceover need an AI label in TikTok ads?

Yes, for an ad built in TikTok Ads Manager. TikTok's ad policy counts audio that is completely AI-generated as content that needs a disclaimer, so turn on 'This ad contains AI-generated content' or add your own clear label, or the ad can be rejected or restricted. Spark Ads follow the Community Guidelines instead: generic text to speech that is not a recognizable voice needs no label there, but a realistic AI person on screen does.

### Can I use my own voice in a video ad?

Yes, as a recording. Upload an MP3, WAV, OGG or WEBM file of you speaking, and a talking actor lip-syncs to it with no text to speech step, so no voiceover is charged. Speech to Speech can also re-voice that recording in a library voice and keep your timing. Only upload your own voice, or one whose speaker gave you written consent.

### Can I add emotion to text to speech?

Yes. Add emotion cues such as excited, happy, serious, whisper, sad, laugh or a short pause where you want them in the script, and the voice reads them as directions, not words. Voiceovers come in 74 languages. If the script is in a different language from the voice, RiffAds translates the text before the voice reads it, and your emotion cues stay where you put them.

### What is the difference between text to speech and a voice changer?

Text to speech starts from words: you type a script and get new speech. A voice changer starts from a recording: it keeps the timing and delivery of the performance and swaps the voice. RiffAds has both. Text to Speech makes a voiceover from a script, Speech to Speech re-voices an audio file, and Change Voice re-voices the speech inside a video.

### How much does an AI voiceover cost?

A voiceover is billed by the characters in the script, and the studio shows the credits before you generate. A script of about 30 seconds costs about 8 credits. A full 30 second talking actor ad, voice included, is about 848 credits. 1 credit is $0.01, credits never expire, and plans start at $49 a month.

### Can my AI agent make voiceovers for my ads?

Yes. Through the API, MCP, Agent Skills and CLI, an agent such as Claude can list voices, get a free price quote and make a voiceover from the same credit balance as the studio. Its spending is capped by limits a person sets, which start at 600 credits per job and 2,000 per day.

## About RiffAds

RiffAds makes realistic UGC video ads with AI actors, lip-synced to your script, in the studio or from your AI agent through API, MCP, Agent Skills and CLI. It never posts to a social account: every result is a download link to the finished file.

RiffAds is priced in credits. 1 credit is $0.01 and credits never expire. Plans start at $49 a month for 4,500 credits. A 30 second talking actor ad is about 848 credits. The studio, the REST API and the MCP server spend the same balance at the same prices, so there is no separate API price.
