# The AI twin generator for ads that star you.

An AI twin generator turns one photo of you into an AI actor. Give it a script and a voice, or upload your own recording, and it speaks on camera. RiffAds saves your twin once, so you can cast it in every video ad.

## What is an AI twin?

An AI twin is a digital version of you that speaks a script on camera. An AI twin generator animates it from one still photo, not from training video. In RiffAds the avatar is called an actor: it is saved once to your workspace library, and you can cast it in any talking video ad, in 74 voice languages.

### How it works

1. **Choose a starting point**: Open Create Actor in the studio and start from a written description, a photo of you or of someone who gave written consent, or an image in your gallery.
2. **Shape the look**: From a description, GPT Image 2.5 draws 2 portraits per turn and you refine until one fits. From a photo, AI reads the face and suggests the details.
3. **Give it a voice**: Pick a library voice or design a new one, and OmniHuman 1.5 renders a 5 second preview of your actor speaking.
4. **Cast it in ads**: Pick the saved actor for any new ad, write a script or upload a recording, and check the credit price before it renders.

### Best for

- Founders who star in their own ads
- Brands that want one recurring spokesperson
- Agencies building a face for each client
- One presenter across many languages

### RiffAds in numbers

- **2 to 100**: custom actors you can create each billing period, from the Launch plan to Scale.
- **5 sec**: preview of your new actor speaking, rendered while you create it, so you see the face and the voice together.

### The numbers behind it

- **Jan 2025**: onward, for new performances, California makes a contract term unenforceable if it lets a digital replica replace a person's in-person work, lacks a reasonably specific description of uses, and the person had no lawyer or union. - **Oct 2024**: is when the FTC rule on fake reviews and testimonials took effect, and FTC staff say it has no blanket ban on AI avatars. ## Questions

### How do I create an AI twin of myself?

An AI twin is an AI avatar of yourself. Open Create Actor in the RiffAds studio and start from one photo of you. AI reads the face and suggests details, you pick a voice, and a short preview renders. The finished actor is saved to your library, so putting yourself in a new ad only takes a new script. When you run the ad, label it as AI-generated: TikTok, for one, requires it.

### Can I create an AI avatar from a text description instead of a photo?

Yes. Describe the person in words, such as age, style and setting, and add up to 2 reference images if you want. You get 2 portrait options each turn and keep asking for changes in plain words until one looks right. The chat itself costs no credits, and each round of portraits is billed in credits. A reference image of a real person needs their written consent.

### Do I need consent to make an AI avatar of someone else?

Yes. Under the RiffAds Acceptable Use Policy, a real person's photo may become an actor only if it shows you or someone who gave you written consent, and never a person under 18. Celebrities are no exception: FTC staff say a celebrity avatar that praises a product without permission breaks the fake testimonial rule if viewers would think the celebrity really said it.

### Will my AI twin have my own voice?

Yes, when you upload your own recording. Skip text to speech, add audio of you speaking, and your twin lip-syncs to it: OmniHuman 1.5 accepts audio under 60 seconds, and MiniMax H3 Max Lip Sync needs 5 to under 14.8 seconds. For a longer ad, join several takes with the Stitch tool. If you would rather not record, give the twin a voice from the library instead.

### How much does a custom AI avatar cost on RiffAds?

Creating an actor uses credits for its portraits, any new voice and the preview clip, at $0.01 a credit. It also counts against your plan's allowance per billing period: 2 on Launch, 10 on Growth and 100 on Scale. Each 30 second OmniHuman 1.5 ad you then make with the actor runs about 848 credits, voice-over included. The cheapest plan is $49 a month. Unused credits never expire.

### Can my AI agent make ads with my custom avatar?

Yes, once the actor exists. You create it in the RiffAds app, and then an agent finds it in your actor list and makes talking ads with it through API, MCP, Agent Skills and CLI. The default limits are 600 credits for one job and 2,000 credits in a day, and an owner or admin can change both. Long OmniHuman 1.5 takes can need a higher per-job limit than the default.

### What is the difference between an AI twin, an AI avatar and an AI actor?

In RiffAds all three are AI presenters, and the product calls every one an actor. An AI twin is a custom actor made from one photo of you. Library actors are ready-made and generated by AI, so they are not real people. Any custom actor, from a photo or a written description, is saved to your own workspace library next to them.

## About RiffAds

RiffAds makes realistic UGC video ads with AI actors, lip-synced to your script, in the studio or from your AI agent through API, MCP, Agent Skills and CLI. It never posts to a social account: every result is a download link to the finished file.

RiffAds is priced in credits. 1 credit is $0.01 and credits never expire. Plans start at $49 a month for 4,500 credits. A 30 second talking actor ad is about 848 credits. The studio, the REST API and the MCP server spend the same balance at the same prices, so there is no separate API price.
